BELLYDANCE AUDITIONS!
Mayada is always looking for all-around awesome bellydancers to join her pro performance troupe. If this is you, please message [email protected] to schedule yourself in for an audition.
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
- paid & unpaid performance opportunities (this troupe will be mainly commercial so I hope to be sending dancers out a few times/month for paid gigs (weddings, restaurants, parties, etc.), but we will perform at big festivals, bellydance events, and other non-paying venues as well) Shows will sometimes be duets or trios, and sometimes be the full group.
- learn and polish multiple cabaret bellydance choreographies (veil work opening, drum solo, main piece, finale, shamadan, etc.)
- very personalized critiques & feedback from Mayada
- opportunity to be sent out for solo shows as well troupe shows if interested
- professional photo shoot of whole group as well as solo shots that you can have for your own use
- be a part of an awesome dance team of other lovely dancers
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR:
- highly motivated intermediate and advanced student levels that want to progress quickly as well as professional level dancers
- if you are a student level/need work on your technique it is mandatory that you take a weekly technique class also with Mayada either in Toronto (Thursdays) or Mississauga (Tuesdays)
- you will be required to purchase a costume that will cost approx. $100 - $150 once in troupe
- weekly (or as-needed) rehearsals will take place at Mayada's home studio in Mississauga (Queensway & Confederation area) on Tuesdays 8:30 -9:30pm
- must be able to accept feedback & willing to work outside of rehearsal to get better technically as well as memorize choreographies
- dancers need to have enough time/be willing to be free for as many shows as possible
- dazzling stage presence and/or a willingness to work on it
- a great attitude and fun spirit
