Great Egyptian Moves is a premier dance troupe that celebrates the rich tapestry of Egypt’s folkloric dance traditions. Composed of elite dancers from all different backgrounds, but with the same love for Egyptian dance, music, and culture. The troupe brings to life the stories, rhythms, and heritage of Egypt’s many regions—from the lush Nile Delta and ancient villages of Upper Egypt to the deserts, coasts, and city streets.

Great Egyptian Moves is led by Meagan Mayada Hesham who has lived in the world of Egyptian dance for over thirty years as a performer, teacher, choreographer, and writer. Great Egyptian Moves blends historical accuracy with dynamic stagecraft. Costumes are region-specific and custom-made.

- Haggala (Western Desert): Known for its striking hip movements and tribal rhythms, performed with authenticity and respect to Bedouin customs.
- Fellahi (Nile Delta): Playful dances mimicking daily village life, often using props like water jugs, baskets, and scarves.
- Bedouin/Sinai: Elegant, grounded movements incorporating traditional veils and swords.
- Eskandarani (Alexandria): Flirtatious, sea-inspired dances performed with millaya luff and sailor-like charm.
