These are some ideas of the workshops I teach, but remember all workshops and workshop weekends can be custom-tailored to exactly what you and your participants want from me!  Maybe you saw something I performed that you liked and you wanna learn that or you just want me to come play drill sergeant to whip workshop participants into shape with challenging technique refinement, maybe you want a piece of this and a piece of that – I’m always open to chatting about the options!

​MAYADA'S CRAZY COMBINATIONS 
This workshop will familiarize participants with Mayada's special brand of bellydance steps and combinations. Lots of challenging beledi-beat combos and sinewy undulating mixes! This workshop is strictly technical and no choreography is taught.
​GANA EL HOWA CHOREOGRAPHY
Learn all sorts of Mayada original combos and moves, then put them all together into a beautiful three minute choreography to the classic Gana El Howa and have a dance ready to perform!
FULL ORIENTAL SHOW CHOREOGRAPHY
Learn a veilwork opening, classical song with taxim, drum solo, and finale. Many of Mayada’s original combos and steps will be incorporated in the choreographies so this workshop goes great with the cool & crazy combo workshop above (though not necessary). Once you complete this workshop, you'll be ready with a full show you can use! (can be broken up into separate workshops –  ie: opening workshop, drum solo workshop, etc.)
BELLYDANCING TO LIVE MUSICIANS with Sam, Wala’a & Mayada
Learn how to dance to a live band and gain confidence improvising to musicians!  Mayada will teach all about entrances, cues, taxims, finales, dealing with a band, and you will get lots of practice working with live musicians (Sam on keyboard & vocals & Wala’a on dumbek, or I can work with musicians from your hometown)

A fun add-on to this workshop is having an afternoon or evening of a dance/shisha party where participants can try out what they learned in formal shows or informal jams in a friendly, laid-back, encouraging atmosphere!  We can supply the shisha, music, and MC-ing, you just need to have a venue! (additional 3 hours)
TURKISH/ROM
Learn the difference between Turkish and Egyptian styles of bellydance, new combinations that go especially well with the Turkish 9/8 Karsilama rhythm, Turkish folk-dance, earthy ROM, and put it all together in a short choreography at the end!
SAIIDI / CANE (or double cane)
Delve deep into the Saiidi folk dances of Egypt! Learn how to twirl and dance with an assaya (stick or cane) or add to your cane technique by learning the very impressive double cane. A sassy Saiidi choreography will be taught (with or without cane/s).  You can also split this workshop up into either just Saiidi or just cane or double cane
SALSA-BELLYDANCE FUSION
Learn how to mix sassy salsa or sexy samba with sensual bellydance. Basics of Salsa or Samba will be taught and then bellydance elements will be layered on top. A choreography will be taught.
SAMBA-BELLYDANCE FUSION
Strong, sexy Brazilian Samba moves go SO well with beautiful bellydance.  Mayada has been doing both dance forms for the same amount of time (20 years now) and they are her two loves!  Recently she’s been choreographing a lot of Latin/Brazilian-Bellydance fusions with her latest being a samba-belly mix. In this workshop participants will learn basic samba steps as well as work on bellydance technique and then put them all together into a funky drum solo that combines both styles seamlessly!
